There are no buttons as standard on the
outside of the power door which means the driver has to walk aro
und the bus
to the driver's door in order to open the door for passengers. We had lockable buttons specially fitted to
overcome this. The photograph shows two buttons we had installed. The top
button closes the door. The bottom button opens the door, but only when the
key is turned. The bus is therefore secure for short periods of absence by
the driver/guide, but can be opened without having to walk around the bus
into busy traffic flow to activate the door opening device.
We have also found that the power door becomes noisy and squeaky when driving and needs regular adjustment.
There are no forced air jets over the power door so it remains steamed up on wet days.
